New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Donates $4000 to Northwest Harvest to feed hungry families.
Renton, WA January 10, 2010:
This Sunday, New Beginnings Christian Fellowship donated $4000 to feed hungry families in the south Puget Sound through Northwest Harvest as well as a truckload of canned goods. This donation arose out of the of the Christmas Concert, “Angels We Have Heard on High,” held at the Worship and Family Life Center on December 12, 2009. Dr. Leslie Braxton, Senior Pastor of the church said “The need for food is up and donations are down, so we wanted to do everything we could to meet the need in the communities around us.” The donation will allow Northwest Harvest to leverage its buying power to purchase nearly 6000 meals to be distributed through food banks statewide. Todd Girouard, Donor Relations Manager for Northwest Harvest, stated “Unfortunately, Northwest Harvest is in a growth business right now, but we are thankful for donations from NBCF and others to meet this critical need.” New Beginnings will continue to collect donations of cash and canned goods to support families in need during these difficult times.
New Beginnings Christian Fellowship is multi-cultural, multi-ethnic church that strives to meet the needs of the whole person. Recently relocated on the Kent and Renton border at 19300 108th Ave SE in its new Worship and Family Life Center, NBCF has served the communities of the south Puget Sound since its inception in 2005. Through effective partnerships with different community organizations, NBCF continues to live out it’s motto. “God is always ready to start over”
